Winning Silver at the WCPF: Awarded for “A Rainy Day on the Cote d’Azure”

There are 208 camera clubs that are members of the Western Counties Photographic Federation, all based in the South West of England roughly from Swindon and Dorchester all the way to Land’s End. The WCPF recently held the judging and selection for the annual Members’ Exhibition and I was surprised and thrilled to gain the SILVER award in the Open Digital section for the image below. The Exhibition itself is held at Stover Country Park TQ12 6QG, is open to the public, and runs from 2nd May through to 11th May. Opening hours are from 10:00 to 16:00 (12:00 to 16:00 on 2 May).

My award winning image was taken in Nice a couple of years ago on a rainy morning when we went for a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais. It has done well in club competitions but I never expected it to gain an award in this exhibition.

I also gained an acceptance for the image below, taken at the Barbican in London.

Other members of Sidmouth Photographic Club did well too, with a Gold award in mono digital, a selectors award and two highly commended images. Not bad from nearly 2500 entries from 49 different clubs!

You can see the images from the WCPF Members’ Exhibition here, together with exhibition statistics.
