Adams Plaza bridge – when it was first opened
Opened in 2015 the Adams Plaza bridge provides a covered walkway between the Canary Wharf Elizabeth Line station and One Canada Square and the shopping malls below. In its original form it was somewhat plain but still an interesting bridge to photograph both inside and outside.

However, in 2020 the bridge was given a stunning new identity by artist Camille Walala, with bold colours, shapes and geometric patterns that work perfectly in the long passageway of the covered bridge with its natural converging lines. On a sunny day the parts of the bridge with windows come alive with colour and shadows, and at night the colours resonate in yet a different way. The bridge has deservedly become a destination for photographers, in its own right.

More recenly in June 2023 the plain concrete bridge pillars and underside of the bridge were given a face lift by artist Adam Nathaniel Furman (see photos below) and on a still day these reflect perfectly in the pools of water at their feet.
Whenever I am at Canary Wharf, I always try to find time to stop by Adams Plaza Bridge, to add to my collection of images. My visit a few weeks ago was no exception.
